Finally Found My Personal Cyberspace

Finally Found My Personal Cyberspace

I have probably had around 8 blogs in my life, all petering out.  I start writing and then lost interest.  I have a professional blog now that I write for once a week because that same article gets published by a local online news site.  But I’ve wanted something for myself, a place to post my thoughts that might reach outside my professional field, or writing about my kids, my hobbies, and humor.  I also really want to post photography and video that I do.  I wanted one place to put all of this together.  My desire for  philosophical and spiritual thought, my desire for design and aesthetics, and my love for my family.

Well, I think I’ve finally found a platform with Thesis that can help me continue to grow into a personal blog that expresses who I am, how I see the world, and the huge questions I ask and try and explore about what it means to be human.

Because I am a therapist and have a website domain of my name, I wanted this site to not have my name shown anywhere so that I can hide from my clients or possible clients.  This blog is mostly for my friends and family, myself, and complete strangers who might share or be interested in my ideas.

I will most likely continue to change, alter and play with this site.  Let me know your thoughts as I go!

Kewl. So is Thesis an annual charge or a one-time charge? 🙂

Nice! I like the format a lot. Now you just have to keep updating it. 🙂

My advice: throw anything and everything up on it. Photos. Funny shot your kids do/say. Deep thoughts. Whatever. Don’t worry who’s reading it. Just produce. It’s a good feeling. 🙂

Yea, I really like the format too. I was on some guy’s blog that I liked and noticed it was wordpress so I checked to see which template or who designed and it said Thesis. So I looked that up and instantly fell in love. You can make lots of adjustments in your dashboard. It cost $87 and I bought a domain name and some hosting space. You have to host Thesis somewhere other than on wordpress because wordpress.com is not set up for making lots of code changes but wordpress.org is. They are a confusing organization but great blogging engine.

And yes, good advice about putting anything up. I was sort of thinking the same thing. When I blog just with writing it always starts to feel like a chore, so this really feels like it can really just be how I see the world and things I like. Hopefully!

i was just about to ask you how you got this wordpress format, but then i read the last comment. i like the different topics that you are covering. music, photo, video….all fun. also, this is a better forum than facebook because you can say more and do more. also my advice is don’t wait till you have something profound to say to make updates to the blog because then you will never get around to it. sometimes just a picture or a one liner are good too. good luck.

Thanks Scotty, that is the plan and I hope to stick to it! More one liners and maybe even some three liners!
